24 Hours for the Lord

“Do we ever conduct an examination of conscience in order to see if we too, at times, might be annoying to others? It’s easy to point a finger against the faults and shortcomings of others, but we must learn to put ourselves in their shoes.” — Pope Francis

Reflection: Today begins an international “24 Hours for the Lord” focused on the Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation and rediscovering God’s mercy through forgiveness. Pope Francis initiated this special time a few years ago to focus Lenten prayer and practice on encouraging people to encounter God through examination of conscience and making sacramental confession. When was the last time you opened yourself to God’s mercy through the Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation? What guides your examination of conscience?
